Itsekiri Students’ body, NAIS gets new leadership

A new leadership to pilot the affairs of Itsekiri students in tertiary institutions across the world for the next one year has been elected.

The election which held today at Obodo in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State under the watchful eyes of Police officers saw an HND 1 Computer Science student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku emerging victorious with 34 votes, beating his fellow contestant, Charlse Amaju who garnered 12 votes.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that winners also emerged for the positions of Vice President, Secretary, Director of Socials, PRO and Welfare Officer, while that of the Financial Secretary was incon clusive.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Okotie Richard assured members of NAIS that a bye-election will be held at a later date for the position of Financial Secrertary.

Speaking on behalf of the newly elected executive, the new National President of NAIS, Comrade Precious Otikpere promised to revitalize NAIS Education Trust Fund and carry out people driven projects.

Comrade Otikpere while promising to continue with the NAIS Scholarship Programme for indigent students in tertiary institutions initiated by the out-going leadership of the association, assured of his administration’s determination to consolidate on the unity of Itsekiri students.

In a remark, the out-going President of NAIS, Comrade Austin Leleji commended members of the association for supporting his leadership and admonished the members of the new executive to consolidate on his achievements.

Other members of the newly elected executive are: Comrade Osandatuwa Pricillia Oritsematosan, Vice President, Comrade Okotie Blessing, PRO, Boyi Williams, Secretary, Tuoyo Blessing, Treasurer, Ugbameta Ada, Welfare Officer and South Co-ordinator, Lodge Toritseju.
