Bomadi Council Lawmakers clear five Supervisor’ Nominees


All five supervisor’ nominees submitted to the Bomadi Local Government Council Legislative Arm by the Chairman of the Council Area, Hon. Oluwole Karetimi for screening and confirmation has been approved by the House for appointment as supervisors.

The nominees’ name was earlier communicated to the lawmakers through a letter to the Leader of the House. Those confirmed are former supervisors: James Bekesuoyeibo-ward 1 Bomadi and Mr. Lawrence Timbor-ward 5. Also cleared was the Delta State Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Youth Circuit Dagidi Andaye-Ward 2 Kpakiama, Ebikabowei Edon-Ward 8 Akugbene, as well as a female nominee, Tombra Korokoro-Ward 10 Ogodobiri/Ezebiri who were asked to take their bow and leave.

The Leader of the House, Hon. Zidideke August while announcing the development, urged members to carefully examine the profile of the nominees and after careful consideration and deliberation on the profiles of the five nominees, the House cleared and approved their appointment as supervisors.

Addressing the supervisor designates, Hon. August advised them to be diligent and honest, charging them to use the opportunity given them to contribute their quota to the development of Bomadi Local Government Area and add value to the administration.

The leader said, “give the chairman good advice and do not instigate the chairman against the councilors. I want us to work as a family for the common good of the council”, just as he pointed out that they were chosen on the premise that they will contribute positively to the growth of the Local Government Area. He stressed that the people of Bomadi Local Government Area will not expect anything less than success.

Responding to journalists, the five Supervisor nominees while expressing their happiness, thanked the Chairman for nominating them to serve in the new executive to be constituted later in the week, saying “we will not betray the confidence reposed on us by the Chairman. We will work hand-in-hand to bring the dividends of democracy to the people. The Chairman has confidence in the category of people he has selected to pilot the affairs of the various departments. We pray to God, we will not fail him”, even as they advised the people of the Council Area to remain patient, that various developmental projects will be spread across the Local Government Area.
