Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Delta South in the forthcoming February polls, Oniyetsoritse Elijah Wilkie says he is very optimistic of victory at the polls because “the awareness in politics is such that people have grown and become more enlightened that they can appreciate what you stand for”, insisting that “recent pattern in voting has shown that voters vote according to their conscience, no matter the inducement”.
The Labour Party Senatorial candidate who was former member, Board of Directors, Delta Waterways Limited under Chief James Ibori administration explained that his ambition is anchored on courage, purpose and the people.
Wilkie while stating that his “acceptance is overwhelming “said the Isokos “want to quickly have their tutrn”, adding that “the Ijaws are already discontent with having one person taking the Senate Seat for the 4th time for a position that is rotational between Ijaws, Itsekiris and Isokos”.
While stating that Labour Party stands for radical change and courage to bring about purposeful leadership, Oniyetsoritse Wilkie who once contested for Warri South-West Chairmanship seat on the platform of UNPP, disclosed that his membership of a fact finding committee to resolve the crisis surrounding the EPZ has exposed him more to people of Delta South Senatorial district which he intend to represent.
The legal practitioner stressed that he is contesting to give purposeful representation with courage in the interest of people of Delta South Senatorial district.
