Tidi: We will not say one of our sons, should go, because of politics - Agbarha, Warri

President - General of Agbarha - Warri, Chief Emmanuel O. Ememu, says Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael E. Tidi, is a member of the Ukutemi Obelikpeyah Family of Ukpokiti / Igbudu Communities of Agbarha - Warri , adding ," Agbarha will not say one of our sons should go, because of politics."

Chief Ememu, made the declaration at Ogwan Re' Ukutemi Obelikpeyah Akporue in Warri, Delta State, Saturday April 16, during the grand reception held in honour of Dr. Michael Ejueyitsi Tidi by the Obelikpeyah family.

The Secretary - General of Obelikpeyah family, Chief Julius Kpesu, had in a welcome address, noted: " No time, is too late to acknowledge a worthy son (Dr. Michael Tidi). We want to say we're proud to associate ourselves with your giant strides in governance and human capital development."

Chief Kpesu averred: " In these days when young men of your ( Tidi) age are indulging in unwholesome activities, you decided to follow the path of honour and dignity, seeking and acquiring all that there's in education, including a Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D and Bachelor of Law in equity.

" In your age, you've proven that there's nothing that cannot be achieved with dint of hard -work and God's grace in an era when some say school is a scam!"

Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Sylvester Ijabor, Chief Emmanuel Otomewo Obelikpeyah, Chief Ann Ugborikoko and Pa. Churchill Oki, were among prominent personalities that spoke during the grand reception, describing Dr. Michael Tidi as a bona fide and illustrious son of Obelikpeyah family.

Emmanuel Otomewo Obelikpeyah, stated: " We have very high standard in our family, we cherish excellence. Tidi, has done well, that is why we are here to celebrate him. You ( Tidi) are being prepared for a higher office. Our son, is diligent. From local government to state, to Abuja and United Nations. We expect much from you ( Tidi) fear not."

A stalwart of Peoples Democratic Party in Warri South Local Government Area, Mr. Victor Agbateyiniro, who also addressed the large gathering of members of the Ukutemi Obelikpeyah Family and  supporters of Dr. Tidi, stressed the need for Itsekiris and Urhobos in Warri to be united, " to make Warri great."

Fresh Angle International, can report that Dr. Michael Tidi, who was elated by the reception, said: " My joy knows no bound. The press and security personnel are here to rejoice with me and to see for themselves that I, Dr. Michael Tidi, is loved by my people ( The Obelikpeyah family of Agbarha). This is not the first time, the family is giving me this kind of reception. The current Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm ( Rt. Hon. Sylvester Ijabor) was my spokesman, when I came for the first time. I never knew a day would come like this, when my achievements would be reeled out by Obelikpeyah family. We have been able to give governance a facelift in Warri South, with the support of staff. I am the first Warri son to serve as Chairman of Warri South Local Government. I say it without spiting my predecessors. I will not fail the Obelikpeyah family, I want to  leave a Warri South, where all sides of the divide, will see themselves as one. We organized the first and second Warri Economic Summits, to unite the people. Comedians and journalists, should not give Warri a bad name, please."

Chairman of Warri South - West Local Government Area, Hon. Taiye Duke Tuoyo, Wife of the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Mrs. Juliet Tidi, some serving councillors of Warri South Local Government Area and a host of PDP chieftains at the ward level as well as  socio - cultural groups, attended the elaborate reception.

This Newspaper, understands that Dr. Michael Tidi,, will tomorrow, Sunday April 17, officially declare his intention to contest for the Warri South Constituency II Seat in Delta State House of Assembly, ahead of the forthcoming PDP primary. 

The declaration, will take place at Warri South PDP Secretariat in Warri by 3pm.
