Isi professionals accuse Leo Ogor of 12-year neglect
Hon. Leo Ogor

The people of Isi seven communities, otherwise known as Isi-Emevor in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State have accused the lawmaker representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the National Assembly for the past 12-years, Hon. Leo Ogor of neglect, saying all efforts to make the legislator address their “frustrated expectations and deep-seated mistrust” have fallen on deaf ears.

In an open letter addressed to Hon. Leo Ogor dated February 16, 2015 and made available to Fresh Angle International, the Isi-Emevor indigenes under the auspices of Concerned Leaders of Isi Professionals, stated that despite giving 100 percent support to the lawmaker’s election in the 2003, 2007 and 20011 elections, “projects/empowerments/appointments “ influenced by Hon. Leo Ogor in the past 12-years he has been representing Isoko Federal Constituency at the National Assembly has been skewed “against the good people of Isi”.

While listing several educational, infrastructural and electricity projects influenced by Hon. Ogor in other parts of Isoko Federal Constituency to their detriment, the Isi-Emevor indigenes claimed that even when the lawmaker was told that the Emevor-Orogun road and the six Isi communities have been removed from Isoko Federal Constituency, he “didn’t say a word.”

The petition which was released by Afoke Ijebu Dickson, noted that “the only access road to our communities have been submerged in flood” and “the general neglect of the Emevor-Orogun road has worsened people’s access to fundamental services such as good drinking water, health facilities and education; as teachers hardly struggle through the road to teach students.”

The Isi people also declared that the bad state of Emevor-Orogun road equally deprive them access to market for their farm produce, insisting that no reasonable buyer will want to pass through the submerged road considering its poor state.

They appealed to Hon, Leo Ogor to immediately address the deplorable state of Emevor-Orogun Road, facilitate the approval and execution of a ring road connecting Egbahe, Oghrere, Oyaro, Ivrogbo and Ujevwe communities as well as provide transformers and educational projects in the Isi communities.
