Tragedy hit Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State recently when a newly matriculated student of Fashion Design and Clothing, Stephen Etuk died in an unfortunate incident.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of a Saturday morning after Etuk was said to have finished a group night reading with his colleagues in the school premises.
Our Auchi Correspondent reports that Etuk and his colleagues were preparing for the ongoing semester examination as well as the Citizenship Education test slated to hold that fateful Saturday morning.
An eyewitness told Fresh Angle that Etuk climbed a mango tree close to the School of Engineering in an attempt to obtain mangoes from the tree, but he fell in the process.
The eyewitnesses added that one of the branches of the tree Etuk climbed fell suddenly and he immediately landed awkwardly.
Our Correspondent learnt that Etuk was immediately rushed to the Auchi Polytechnic Cottage Hospital where sources said he was brought in dead.
Meanwhile, Sympathizers and colleagues have besieged his department to pay their last respect. They were all clad in black attire as a sign of mourning.
