Indications emerged today that staffers of Uvwie and Warri South Local Government Councils in Delta State are to receive ¼ of their January 2015 salary this week, Fresh Angle International can report.
The serious cut in salary is sequel to a sharp drop in the February statutory allocation released last week after the Delta State Joint Allocation Committee, JAC meeting held at Asaba.
Workers in the two councils like their colleagues in other urban councils dominated by primary school teachers have been receiving their salaries in installment since July last year and imprest as well as other forms of running cost have become history as a result of the dwindling monthly federal allocations.
Some staff of the affected councils who bare their frustrations to your soar away International tabloid, described the situation as pathetic and declared that management of the councils should hold back on the proposed January ¼ salary and keep the fund pending when March allocation will be released to enable them pay full January salary rather than pay them money that will not be enough to service their facility, let alone begging daily bills.
