The leader of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, Chief Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, says he is overjoyed by what Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, is doing for the underprivileged and physically challenged persons in Warri South, through his monthly micro-economic empowerment programme, even as Hon. Opuoru assured that the drainage project at Ikengbuwa Primary School, Ajamimogha, Warri, which he included in his constituency project, would be completed before the end of December this year.

Video Clip of Hon. Opuoru, speaking in an interview:

Chief Otumara, who made the statement Sunday May 1, at his private residence in Ugbuwangue, Warri, when he played host to Hon. Opuoru and some of his supporters, declared: “You (Hon. Matthew Opuoru) are doing the work of the Messiah. Your good deed, will not be in vain. May God give you favour in Jesus name. He will promote and project you”.

Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Opuoru, who represents Warri South Constituency II in Delta State House of Assembly and is seeking a return mandate to the State Legislature, noted: “I started this journey since 2011 and won in 2019. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and other restraints, I was able to initiate and sustain empowerment programme for those who cannot fend for themselves.

“I have been able to supply chairs and tables to a couple of schools in my constituency. God willing, before December this year, the drainage project at Ikengbuwa Primary School and the projects at Merogun and Ogedegbe Primary Schools, will be completed. Recall, I moved a motion few weeks back in the State House of Assembly, when the roofs and other critical structures of Merogun and Ogedegbe Primary Schools, were destroyed by the wind”.

Whilst describing himself as a bridge builder, Hon. Opuoru, told Chief Otumara: “I used the visit to my family (Uku Family) in Okere to put some blackmail to rest. I haven't done anything to offend the system, I am here to seek your support for my second tenure, based on my achievements. The conspiracy to wipe this system (arguably referring to Chief Otumara’s political leadership) and start a new one in Warri South, will not work, I will continue to support the system”.

Fresh Angle International can report that Hon. Omimi Esquire, the Political Adviser to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, former member of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Abigor and one-time Secretary to Warri South Local Government Transition Committee, Mr. Eugene Ebisin, were among those present at Chief Otumara’s house, when Hon. Opuoru visited with his delegation, which included some serving Councilors in Warri South Local Government Council and a couple of PDP Chieftains at the ward level.
