The Kogi State Command, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, (NSCDC) has begun partnership with the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, (KGIRS) on security ethics and professional conduct in the State.
Speaking on Thursday to mark the end of a four days training and symposium for efficient, effective and timely service delivery, the Kogi State Commandant of NSCDC, Suleiman Ibrahim Mafara admonished officers to be acquainted with the latest security tips to combat insecurity in the Country.
This, he said, became necessary as the Country is being confronted with problem of insecurity ranging from armed robbery, banditry, terrorism.
According to the commandant, the participants should ensure that they put into practice what they have learnt in the training stressing that, the command will always synergize with relevant agencies towards the protection of lives and properties in Kogi State.
' NSCDC as a reputable security agency in Nigeria is saddled with the responsibility of registering,licencing training and re-training of private guards security personnel(PGC) and also protecting our critical infrastructure for national development.
" Having had an explicit knowledge on security ethics and responsibilities, physical drills, forensic and psychological test, it is important to put into practice what has been learnt for protection as development of our Country especially now that we are being confronted with Challenges of insecurity" he added.
Meanwhile, in a bid to strengthen the fight against armed robbery, banditry, terrorism bedevilling the nation's today, the Kogi State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, (NSCDC) Suleiman Ibrahim Mafara has admonished security agencies to shun unnecessary rivalry for the interest of the Country development.
Mafara made the appeal on Thursday when the new Kogi Sector Commander, Federal Roads Safety Corp, (FRSC) Stephen paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Mafara said the appeal became necessary as the fight against insecurity cannot be won when security operatives are at loggerhead against each other.
According to him, when there is robust relationship and synergy among security agencies, it causes panic among criminal elements who intend to cause havoc or dis-stabilize the peace of the Country.
Mafara explained that the command has continued to synegize with sister security agencies to checkmate the activities of criminals adding that, through robust relationship, many criminals have relocated from Kogi State.
"It is high time all security operatives should shun unnecessary rivalry for the interest of our Country Nigeria. We are all one and are determined towards a crime free society.
"If criminals can identify all security operative as same and one, it causes confusion among them as an injury to one will be an injury to all. Our focus as one body should be on nation building and development and not unnecessary rivalry that will negate the call our father land" he echoed.
Earlier, the Kogi State Sector Commander of FRSC, Stephen Dalong in his remarks emphasized the need for a workable data for motorists, adding that, this will help to check the inflow of people and curb insecurity in Kogi State.
