Warri Fed. Constituency 2023: Owner of 102.1 FM, Ekpoto wins APC ticket, to face Ereyitomi

Owner of Warri.Com 102.1 FM, the first community radio in Warri, Delta State, Mr. Ekpoto Ekpoto Emmanuel, has won the All Progressives Congress, APC ticket for Warri Federal Constituency Seat in the National Assembly, getting set to slug it out with the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency and PDP candidate, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, in the National Assembly election slated for the first quarter of 2023.

Mr. Ekpoto, reportedly polled 47 votes in the APC House of Representatives primary held in Warri, Friday May 27, to defeat his opponent, Mr. Moses Yabrade, who Fresh Angle International understands, scored 46 votes.

The primary was reportedly conducted at Esisi Road by Rice Farm, GRA Warri, by a team sent from Abuja by the National leadership of the party.

The team, led by the Returning Officer, Barr. Michael Ukusanre and comprising of Barr. Nafe Kigho Samuel and Oghenebrorhien Eguono Alfred, announced Mr. Ekpoto as the winner.

Your Warri Based Flagship Niger Delta Online Newspaper, gathered that the peaceful primary was observed by officials from INEC, Department of State Services, DSS and select - media representatives.

While Mr. Ekpoto, expressed delight over the outcome of the primary, expressing optimism of emerging victorious in the general elections, his contender, Yabrade, reportedly left the venue disappointed.

The 2023 APC Warri Federal Constituency candidate, urged aggrieved members of the party to close ranks and work with him as well as the leadership of APC in Delta State, to ensure candidates of the party win the general elections next year.
