Ifie-kporo Community in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, has requested for a medical doctor and more nurses to be posted to Ifie-kporo Primary Health Centre, Fresh Angle International can report.

A member of Ifie-kporo Community Elders’ Council, Mr. Francis Eyifoma, made the appeal on behalf of the community, Tuesday July 26, when a foremost indigenous oil and gas company, AYM Shafa, handed over Ifie-kporo Primary Health Centre, which it renovated and equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities.

Mr. Eyifoma, who spoke on the behest of the Ag. Olare-Aja (Eldest man) of Ifie-Kporo, Pa Michael Domino, stated: “We want to thank AYM Shafa, we are so impressed and very happy. You have the interest of our community at heart. Government alone cannot do everything, hence interventions from individuals and corporate bodies, are needed to complement the efforts of government”.

The Terminal Manager of AYM Shafa at Ifie-Kporo, Mr. Solademi Oludare, in his remarks before handing over the health facility, modernized by the company, disclosed: “AYM Shafa, came into this community (Ifie-Kporo) 2017 and one of the projects, the management agreed to embark upon, is to renovate this facility (the health centre). We started with the fencing, bought some equipment, renovated the doctor’s quarter, waiting room for maternity and bought drugs to the elderlies and people that need it. We included the medical outreach together with handing over of the facilities to government. We are handing over today, does not mean we are withdrawing completely, we are still part of this health centre. We will still be buying drugs, the health centre is our own baby and part of our responsibility, we will still work together with the community, they are giving us 100percent support”.

The way you people (AYM Shafa) are assisting us in this health facility, is envy to other facilities. You renovated, supplied medical equipment and now free medical outreach, is ongoing.

“The Council, also want to appreciate the elders and youths of Ifie-Kporo Community for their massive support and urge you to continue to cooperate with us and the management of AYM Shafa Limited”.

Flanked by Mr. Solademi Oludare, the Project Manager of AYM Shafa, Engr. Israel Gana, conducted the Trust Chairman of Ifie-Kporo, Peter Ede, some elders of the community and Officials of Warri South Local Government Council, round the upgraded health centre, equipped with medical facilities such as delivery bed, baby cut, sterilizer unit, theater light, oxygen bottles, cut down scissors and other equipment needed for delivery.
