Report reaching Fresh Angle International reveals that barely two days to tomorrow’s Gubernatorial and House of Assembly polls, fighting has broke out between supporters of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC in Otokutu, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Already one person, believed to be loyal to the APC was mid-night cut with a machete, while properties belonging to some persons is said to have been destroyed.
According to a source in the community, Chairman of Otokutu (name still unknown) that has allegedly collected over three million naira from wife of Delta State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Utuama went around the community, telling anyone who cares to listen that they must vote PDP candidates in tomorrow’s election. The Community Chairman’s position is said to have met resistance by most people in the community whose sympathy lies with the APC.
It was gathered that residents in the notorious community are presently living in fear as the polls hour draws nearer, even as loyalists of the APC are said to be mobilizing to protect themselves and some persons are speculated to have been arrested already by the police.
