The immediate past President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, ECO, has urged Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to call High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) the King of Gbaramatu to order, over perceived, “ceaseless attack on His Imperial Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri Kingdom by Gbaramatu Voice”.
The call by Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, extracted from a press statement sent to Fresh Angle International, today, Monday September 12, was informed by a report headlined: ‘INVESTIGATION! Oil Pipelines Surveillance Contracts: Fresh Facts Emerge in Niger Delta’, published in Gbaramatu Voice, yesterday, Sunday September 11.
Gbaramatu Voice, had reported: “To further clear the air of controversy and accusation that surrounds the recent crude Oil pipelines surveillance contracts awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, to the former leader of the defunct Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo and Pipelines Infrastructure Limited, a company owned by Olu of Warri”.
But an enraged Edema, in his reaction, declared: “The ceaseless attack on His Imperial Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri Kingdom by Gbaramatu Voice is a deliberate ploy by Government Ekpemupolo and the King of Gbaramatu to not only tarnish the Image of Revered Warri Monarch but to stylishly annex our ancestral Homeland.
“It is a known fact that Tompolo, his agents and his Ijaw allies, are the Chief Sponsors of Gbaramatu Newspaper and the recent attack on the Olu of Warri is well-orchestrated, but futile agenda to not only drag the name of the First Class Warri Monarch to the mud, but to divert public attention from the recent revelations by Asari Dokubo that Tompolo created Gbaramatu Kingdom on the blood of innocent Itsekiris brutally murdered by the carnage and pogrom carried out against the Itsekiri people by the Ijaws led by Tompolo between 1996-2003.
“It is in the same manner that some faceless Ijaw groups Egbema Youths Network maligned Ocean Marine Services (OMS) in 2020.
“I wish to put it on record that His Imperial Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III the Olu of Warri Kingdom was a serial entrepreneur, before his ascension to the throne of his forebears.
“The Olu of Warri Kingdom is the largest landowner of Oil and Gas in Nigeria as all Lands in Warri Kingdom is vested under his overlordship”.
