Ex-Uvwie Council Chairman, High Chief Ejifoma, laid to rest

A former Transition Committee Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area in Delta State, High Chief Robert Ovuiroro Warri Ejifoma, who recently passed on at the age of 71 after a brief illness, was laid to rest, Friday September 9 at MFM Street, Jakpa Road, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area.

The remains of late Chief Robert Ovuiroro Warri Ejifoma, reportedly arrived his resident for lying in state, at about 9:00am, Friday September 9 amid funfair, with Chiefs in Uvwie Kingdom paying their last respect.

In-line with the Uvwie tradition, kola-nut and drinks, were presented to the Chiefs by members of the Ejifoma family. The Usiavwe Alagbor of Uvwie Kingdom, High Chief Kenneth Okowe received the kola-nut on behalf of the Chiefs present, while The Esirherha of Ugbomro, Chief Onodewa, prayed for the family.

 

The Funeral Mass, which held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, River Road, Ekpan, was celebrated by Very (Rev.) Fr Clement Abobo, Very (Rev.) Fr. Augustine Eruotor and other Priests, with Olorogun Esere Ejifoma -Atemu, taking the first reading from the book of Wisdom 3:1-9.

 

 

 

Our Managing Editor/Co-Publisher, reports that the responsorial Psalm was taken by Minene Cynthia Ejifoma from Psalm 23 and the second reading was taken by Mr. John Ejifoma from the book of Apocalypse 21:1-7. 

 

The Gospel was taken by Rev. Fr Anthony Menemine, from the book of Matthew 25:31-46. immediately after the gospel, the homily was taken by Very Rev Fr. Mark Ikeke, who stated: “We did not come to this world by chance, but by destiny”.

 

Very Rev Fr. Mark Ikeke, advised the Ejifoma family, especially wife of the departed ex-Uvwie Chairman, “to accept God for his goodness to them”, describing the late Dr. Ejifoma as a strong man.

 

The vote of thanks, was said by Chief Esere Ejifoma-Atemu, daughter to late Dr. Ejifoma. She thanked Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, Hon. Ramson Onoyake, Priests present, Rev. Kayode from the Anglican Church, who played saxophone with Esere's daughter, members of the larger Ejifoma family, Chiefs of Uvwie Kingdom and others, who supported the family towards the successful burial ceremony of her father.
