A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Niger Delta activist, Chief Michael Johnny has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC not to sweep the NIMASA N13billion land acquisition fraud under the carpet, saying the current silence on the issue is worrisome and leaves much to be desired.

In a telephone chat, Chief Johnny vowed to mobilize against any move to treat the issue with levity, against the policy of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration which is geared towards prosecuting looters of the country’s treasury.

He reiterated his earlier position that N3billion was released to the community by NIMASA and only one billion naira was shared to the entire Gbaramatu Council of Chiefs and the communities within the Kingdom.

According to him, 500 million naira came to Okerenkoko community after a generating plant was purchased for the community, while about 350 million naira was sent back to the community.

Chief Johnny also accused the present Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro of collecting 20 million naira as part of the fund meant for the community, claiming the money was meant for the rebuilding of Okerenkoko which was destroyed by the Nigeria military as a result of the then militant activity of Chief Government Ekpemupolo AKA Tompolo.

The Gbaramatu Chief threatened to drag EFCC and other relevant anti graft agencies to court if the on-going investigation is not followed to a logical conclusion.
