Owners of abandoned vehicles along the roads in Warri, Delta State have been given the third week of September 2015 to remove them from the road or face evacuation/seizure, authorities of Warri South Local Government Council have warned.
The one month ultimatum affects all those operating motor parks along unauthorized places along the road, indiscriminate placement of billboards along major roads and streets as well as trading along median of roads
The Warri South Council Supervisor for Environment, Mr. Kenneth George made the disclosure Wednesday August 19 while supervising the evacuation of refuse along Okere Market Road, Okumagba Estate Roundabout, Airport Road by Delta Careers College, Mciver Market Roundabout, Odion Road, Cavegina Primary School, Ukpokiti junction and Esisi Road, all in the Oil City of Warri.

According to Mr. Kenneth George, as part of plans to rid roads in Warri of refuse and abandoned vehicles, a Special Environmental Sanitation Taskforce headed by him has been set up by the council to ensure compliance.
Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema in an interview admonished residents of Warri as well as business owners in the Local Government to corporate with the council authorities in her resolve to make Warri a cleaner city, noting that the council has resolved to make the on-going refuse evacuation/clearing of over-grown weeds in Warri a regular exercise.
