The Police in Delta State have launched manhunt for the Bishop of Gwagwalada Diocese, Bishop Moses Tabweye who was reportedly abducted by yet-to-be identified hoodlums somewhere in Edo State, Fresh Angle International has gathered.
The Cleric was said to be traveling from Abuja to Onitsha when the kidnappers abducted him and left his vehicle, an Ash coloured Toyota Highlander Jeep with Reg. No. GWA 842 SJ steaming with ignition.
A statement by Delta State Police Command noted that Safer Highway Patrol Team 009 on patrol at Onicha Ugbo / Ewhohimi Road recovered the Bishop’s car, even as the case has been transferred to the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad / Tracking Team, who are reported to be closing up on the fleeing hoodlums.
In the same vein, a team of Special Anti Kidnapping Squad Operatives / Tracking Team on Saturday September 5 at about 10: 00am stormed a kidnappers’ den at Obetim Forest, Kwale Area and rescued a first Bank PLC Manager, Mr. Ekwuebu Lawrence who was kidnapped.
Meanwhile, eleven persons believed to be ring leaders of the Outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra are presently in the custody of the Delta State Police Command. They were among 156 persons arrested at Oneh Primary School, Asaba on Sunday September 6 at about 14:00 hours by a team of detectives, while they were holding meeting.
According to a Statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, following a screening conducted by Detectives headed by the AC, CIID, the others including women were released, while the detained eleven were undergoing investigation and are likely to be prosecuted.
Items allegedly recovered from them include Biafra Freedom Song CD Plate, Group Photograph, United Nation’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People, Documents containing Biafra National Anthem and a Book titled, “ Agueleri : The Pivot of The Bani-Israil in Nigeria”.
