September 17, 2015: Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the NNPC/CNL Joint Venture (JV), has announced the appointment of Mr. Monday A. Ovuede to the position of Director, NNPC/CNL JV.
Monday replaces Mr. Supo Shadiya who recently retired from the company after 32 years of meritorious service to CNL and Chevron Corporation. Monday has since resumed work in his new position.
Mr. Ovuede received his Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria in 1986. He joined the Company in 1997 as a Senior Petroleum Engineer and has held numerous technical and management positions of increasing responsibility in Nigeria and the United States in the course of his career. These include: Reservoir Engineering Advisor; Agbami Project Director; General Manager, Marine Services Group for Chevron Shipping Company, and Vice President, Organizational Capability for Chevron Corporation.
According to Mr. Clay Neff, Chairman & Managing Director, CNL, Monday was appointed to the position based on his “leadership skills, sound understanding of Chevron’s operations and demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with relevant stakeholders”.
