Despite the nullification of the governorship election of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State Saturday October 24 by the Rivers State Governorship Tribunal which sat at Abuja, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the party's candidate for Warri South Constituency I in the April 11, 2015 Governorship /House of Assembly polls, Barr. Robinson Ariyo says the embattled Rivers Governor remains Chief Executive of the Oil and Gas Rich State.
Reacting to a question sent to his mobile phone, the APC leader averred, “he is still Governor by law until 21days if he fails to appeal. But if he does, he remains governor for the period until his appeal is determined".
The issue on whether or not Wike remains in the position as Chief Executive of Rivers State has been generating intense controversy, with Wike's legal team vowing to immediately appeal the judgment.
