Followers of political events in Itsekiri land in the last two years are not unaware of the polarization of Itsekiri Nation into two political forces, one led by Chief Ayirimi Emami who dumped the PDP for APC and the other led by Hon. Daniel Reyenieju/ Hon. David Tonwe of the PDP.

This is not ignoring the Hon. Michael Diden factor supported by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who most Itsekiris feel is not favourable to them as a result of alleged beef against former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

Though indications are rife that current Executive Director of Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission, NNDC, Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli may have decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Fresh Angle International checks reveal that Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli’s execution of projects in Itsekiri Communities across Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas is gradually making him the new political bride even among the contending political forces, the reported reconciliation in Ugborodo notwithstanding.

Reports from Itsekiri riverine and upland communities reveal that massive concrete roads as well as jetty projects are on-going, linking communities such as Udo, Ajamitan and Tebu, all in Olero creeks, while shore projection jobs are said to have been awarded by the newly propelled Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, anchored by Engr. Omatsuli’s vigour and expertise.

Concrete roads, reconstruction of drainages are also reaching advance stages in parts of Warri Urban like Shell Contractors’ Gate and Ugbuwangue-Ogunu Link Road.

Site Engineer for the Ugbuwangue –Ogunu Link Road Reconstruction and Drainage Project, Engr. Elie Korkos in an exclusive chat with Fresh Angle International, disclosed that the project which is about 800 metres stretch will be about 50cm high and will be done with concrete because of the terrain.
