We are committed to building capacity of local contractors, Chevron stresses

The Area Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs, PGPA-West of Chevron Nigeria, Mr. Esimaje Brikinn has stressed that Chevron is committed to the building of capacity of indigenous community contractors.

Mr. Brikinn gave the reassurance Tuesday December 15, 2015 in Warri, Delta State during the presentation of award in recognition of the excellent services of an indigenous firm, Jemtech Global Engineering Services.

According to him, Chevron places high premium on contractors that have the ability to deliver contracts on “high level technology base” and show confidence in the execution of all kinds of job.

The Chevron PGPA Boss affirmed, “we are particularly pleased with the proficiency that Jemtech displayed in the areas of onsite, safety, site supervision, employee motivation, leadership, site visits, logistics and contractors’ interface management”.

He mentioned some of the jobs executed successfully by the indigenous firm to include developing of detailed material catalogue which allows for progress tracking and measurement, “completion of 1,945 cuts to form various simple as well as complex shapes and safely completing 835 crane lifts”.

The Onshore Construction Superintendent, Chevron Nigeria, Mr. Tunde Orangun, described the performance of Jemtech Engineering Services as excellent and commended the company for executing a job expected to last for 12 weeks in 8 weeks.

In his remark, the Managing Director of Jemtech Engineering Services, Eric Jemijereye thanked Chevron Nigeria for the opportunity given to his company to execute contracts and promised to continually execute bigger jobs as well as abide by safety standards within and outside its operational facilities.
