The Police in Delta State have announced the arrest of six students of Delta State University, Abraka, DELSU, during initiation into a secret cult known as Viqueen, Fresh Angle International has learned.
The six suspected cultists: Chukwudi Ejiede (male) 22 years, Emeka Otulugbuke (male) 21 years, Ogbem Daniel (male) 20 years, Winifred Eyefian (female) 22 years, Ziya George (female) 21 years and Omojevbe Tracy Ngozi (female) who was raped as part of initiation proceeding into Viqueen Confraternity, were arrested on the orders of the DPO of Abraka Division of the Nigeria Police.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP. Celestina Kalu, The DPO of Abraka Division received information at about 18:30hours Monday December 14, 2015 that a sound of a girl’s cry was being heard from an uncompleted building in a bush around the Railway Line, Abraka and consequently dispatched a patrol team to the scene.
It was the patrol team that reportedly arrested all six suspects, while investigation is ongoing to track other members of the cult group.
Incidences of cultist activities have grown in recent times in Delta State, particularly street cults in towns like Ughelli, Agbarho and Warri, with the cultists robbing and molesting innocent citizens.
