Fire has razed down a building accommodating 11 families, 4 shops at 42 Karien Street, Okumagba layout in Warri, Delta State.
The inferno which occurred at about 2a.m Sunday June 17, left household properties, drugs and food items worth millions of naira destroyed.
Our Correspondents, who were at the scene hours later, report that the fire was caused by a spark from an analogue PHCN meter serving the entire building.
An eyewitness told Fresh Angle that before the state fire service could access the street where the incident occurred, the inferno had already caused devastating damages, rendering all occupants of the building homeless.
Fresh Angle gathered from sources within that apart from families who reside in the affected building, it also accommodated a chemist, provision, cosmetic and food spices shops.
It was however gathered that no human casualty was recorded even though residents were asleep when the unfortunate incident occurred.
As at the time of filing this report, owner of the building as well as victims could not be reached for comment.
