All things being equal, the governorship candidate for the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the October 20 governorship election in Ondo State will emerge in the next one week, Fresh Angle reliably gathered.
This is just as the party has zoned the seat to the north senatorial district, while the running mate goes to the south.In the same vein, the central senatorial district gets the slot of the party’s Director General of its campaign organization.These were part of the decisions reached by the state and national leadership of the party in Lagos recently.
State ACN chairman, Chief Olorunsola Adesoji, stated this in a chat with newsmen in Akure, the Ondo State capital.According to him, the party’s guber candidate and DG will emerge in the next one week, adding that the running mate would be announced at a later date.
Chief Adesoji also pointed out that no form has been released to aspirants yet, assuring that a level-playing field will be given all aspirants.He maintained that ACN would emerge victorious in the poll.
With this development, aspirants like the former Finance Commissioner during Agagu administration, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, Central, one-time chairman of the party, Chief Sola Iji, South, member, representing Akure North/South Federal Constituency, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde Central and all other contenders from the south and central districts under the party’s platform have been automatically disqualified from the race.
