Nigeria's finest reggae maestro in the '80s, Majek Fashek says what he went through was seclusion and not rehab as generally believed, saying people were tapping into his “spiritual acumen”.

The Edo born artiste popular addressed as ‘The Rain Maker’ made the declaration Friday January 8, 2016 during a TVC breakfast programme called ‘your views’.

Majek Fashek who said rehab is for someone that has mental challenge, stated that he went to seclusion" to save the crown of Bob Marley and Fela Anikulapo Kuti ", both of whom he called his masters.

When asked about the role Chief Ayirimi Emami recently played in his life, he responded, “Ayiri is my brother, he said I was going out of control, so I had to seclude", just as he described Fela as “the Jesus Christ of Nigeria”.
