Meltdown: Why Okowa’s Supreme Court victory is vital to Deltans-Aide

The recent Supreme Court victory of Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa over the appeal brought to the Apex Court by the All Progressives Congress and Labour Party candidates, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor and Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru respectively has been described as very vital to Deltans in the quest by Dr. Okowa to divest the economy of Delta State through his SMART agenda.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Political Affairs and Leader of Okere Urhobo Grassroots Political Forum, OUGPF, Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru made the assertion Friday February 5 in Warri, Delta State, during a gathering he organized for PDP leaders and Faithful in celebration of Okowa’s Supreme Court victory which coincided with his appointment as the Governor’s aide.

According to Mr. Opuoru, the judgment has put paid to all forms of distraction in Governor Okowa’s determination to tackle the downward slide in the price of crude oil through his “strategic wealth creation projects and provision of jobs for all Deltans, meaningful peace building platforms aimed at political and social harmony as well as Agricultural reforms and accelerated industrialization, relevant health and education policies”.

The Governor’s Aide stressed that the milestone Dr. Okowa administration recently achieved through the Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme, YAGEP and the Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme, STEP, which saw the first batch of trainees graduated after successful completion of the programmes, with the second batch of both schemes soon to commence, “attests to Governor Okowa’s visionary leadership”.

He emphasized that Delta State remains one big family and enjoined all well meaning Deltans to join hands with the governor in the resolve to build an economically viable Delta State.
