Shola Mese Foundation to inaugurate orphanage next month

     Founder of Shola Mese Foundation, Deacon Shola Mese,, has disclosed plans to inaugurate orphanage next month, as part of his  sustained efforts to positively redirect the minds of the younger generation and lay solid foundation for human capital development.                        

Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that Deacon Mese, made the disclosure Friday December 16, during the 10th  graduation ceremony of Shola Mese Foundation's skills' acquisition training programme held at the training centre in Izakpa, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta state.                  

The beneficiaries, successfully completed training on Fashion and Graphic Design.    

 

 

               

Whilst speaking during the colourful ceremony, Deacon Shola Mese, who expressed happiness at the successful completion of the programme by the trainees, stated: "I expect them to emulate whatever they have learnt from the training and use it to make their parents  and  the foundation proud.

"You can come here as a nonentity, but I expect you to leave here as a better person and a good example to your family. I am proud when I see most of the old students grow after graduating from the Centre."

 He charged mothers who cannot take care of their babies, to bring them to the orphanage of Shola Mese Foundation commencing January 2023, instead of abandoning the babies by the road side.

“The orphanage, will be one with a difference, where the  children will be given quality education and excellent health care,” he assured.

In her remarks, the Head of Department, Fashion and Design, Shola Mese Foundation's Training Centre, Mrs. Tina Ohimekpea, said the programme is a one - year free training scheme, where the trainees are taught how to make latest male and female  fashion designs.

“The programme has been ongoing for the past 10years and has trained over 300 beneficiaries, 50 of them have their own shop and are doing very well.” she revealed.

Gbolahan Success,  a beneficiary who hails from Abeokuta North, Ogun State,  praised the Foundation for  impacting the knowledge on them and promised to utilise the skills effectively.

Another beneficiary, Anagaba Clara, from Etsako West Local Government Area in  Edo state, commended the Foundation for the training, saying.” I am now a certified fashion designer, I will no longer depend on my parents, I can now take care of my siblings, May God bless Shola Mese Foundation."

An alumni of  the Graphic and Design section of the training centre, Elohor Ohwojedo, who hails from Okpe Local Government Area in Delta state,  testified :" I was trained last year, today I can design bill boards, hand bills, polo shirts and other graphic design. I am now self reliant. This is what I now  do  for a living. Thanks to Shola Mese Foundation for empowering me."
