A Private Secondary School in Uvwie Local Government Area, Jesus Hominum Salvator has emerged winner of this year’s quiz competition organized on Friday February 19, as part of the 8th coronation anniversary of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel .E. Sideso Abe 1.
Our Correspondent reports that there were prizes for Primary School, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary School categories. While the Primary School category was won by St. Anastatia Height School, Jesus Hominum Salvator came out tops in both the Junior and Senior Secondary School categories.
The Ovie of Uvwie, HRM Emmanuel .E. Sideso while presenting the prize and trophy to the Senior Secondary School category winner, Chioma Okoye and Oruese Okpeh of Jesus Hominum Salvator, lauded them for their performance and advised students to shun cultism.
The Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, FUPRE, Ugbomro in Uvwie Local Government Area, Prof. Akii Ibhadode and Deputy Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. (Mrs.) Mary Edema, representatives of the institution that sponsored the quiz, commended Uvwie Kingdom for stressing the importance of education to the participants and pledged their continuous commitment towards the sustenance of the annual quiz competition.
Organizer of the quiz, Chief MacDonald Ugbewanku thanked FUPRE for their continuous assistance since the maiden edition and disclosed that 37 schools and 300 students participated in this year’s competition.
