Ex- Commissioner admits weakness in Delta APC foundation

One-time Delta State Commissioner for Education and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. (Mrs.) Veronica E. Ogbuagu has admitted weakness in the foundation of APC in Delta State, saying the party “has been mired in litigation and other controversies” and “nobody is in direct control of the party”, thus causing its foundation to weaken “dangerously”.

She noted that APC in Delta State “have many splinter groups” holding secret meetings as well as playing games that undermine the party and stressed that the party need “competent leaders to unify all the fractions of our great party in Delta State and preach a common message and mission that we all agree on”.

The APC Chieftain who made the assertion weekend in Effurun, Delta State during the formal reception of Chief John Miller Omagbemi Orido as member of the APC as well as the inauguration of Delta State Coalition for Buhari, DESCOB, described President Buhari’s government as revolutionary and progressive.

According to her, “President Buhari’s strong principles is the reason why the APC was able to successfully wrestle power from the People’s Democratic Party in the last elections’, insisting the President runs a clean government and “he is leading a clean government reformation in the country”.

While noting that Nigeria is not going to change overnight “as the damage done to the country by past governments, both military and democratic took over 49 years to create”, the academic cum politician opined that the APC is not afraid of opposition because the country “needs a steady, strong and effective opposition for it to develop”.

A new entrant to the APC and former Chieftain of PDP in Delta Central Senatorial district, Chief JMO Orido in an address stated that it is pertinent to join the APC “to proclaim its fair and stringent measures of good democratic practices vis-à-vis fighting corruption, underdevelopment and poverty”.

He enjoined Nigerians to “adjust to the new changes and imbibe the culture of hard-work, clean opportunities and true growth to actual societal development devoid of any kind of ills”.
