Renowned Journalist and fellow of Nigeria Guild of Editors, Chief John Onowighose Araka, Mr. Vincent Ajokpa-Oghene Omovusu, Hon. Abraham Akor Agba, Madam Alice Ukoko and Ogbe Elites Club of Owhelogbo, Delta State will be conferred with this year’s Isoko Heroes/Heroines of Development Awards taking place July 14 at Shell Ramp, Warri by 10.00am.
A statement by FONE Media Integrated Company, organizers of the award and publishers of Isoko Mirror Newspaper said the awardees were selected based on merit.
According to the media firm, the awardees have carved a niche for themselves in their chosen fields of endeavour.
The statement noted that highlights of the occasion include the seventh anniversary of Isoko Mirror Newspaper and formal presentation of a book titled, “Historical facts on the Isoko people and communities”.
Fresh Angle understands that this year’s award is the 4th edition of Isoko Heroes/Heroines of Development Awards. “Our awardees have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour, as we thoroughly examined their credentials and pedigree before choosing them” the organizers explained.
Activities lined up to mark the event include celebration of seven years uninterrupted publication of Isoko Mirror Newspaper and launching of the book titled, “Historical facts on the Isoko people and communities” authored by the chief executive officer of FONE Media, Felida Ogheneosede Essi.
The statement further disclosed that Secretary to Delta State Government, Comrade Samuel Ovuozourie Macaulay will Chair the occasion, Deputy Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Johnson Erijo will be Chief Launcher, while President General of Isoko Development Union, IDU, Chief Gregory Oke Akpojene will be Father of the Day.
Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are Dr. Isaac Ejebe, book presenter, Comrade Joseph Evah, Deputy Leader, House of Representatives, Hon. Leo Ogor Okuweh, Mr. Vincent Omovusu, DSP, Regina Orowo Omuye and Hon. Benjamin Essien Okiemute of Delta State House Of Assembly.
