An Itsekiri youth group, Itsekiri Like-minds have thrown their weight behind the alleged order of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame, Ikenwoli barring all 89 community representatives in Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC, including members of the Chief Ayirimi Emami led executive from returning in the incoming executive expected to have the blessing of the Monarch.
Members of the group paid the Olu of Warri solidarity visit Monday February 29 at the Olu Palace in Warri to openly declare their support for the Monarch’s purported directive and averred that they are in full support of fresh hands to run the Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC.
They stressed that the King’s priority of ensuring that the Chevron established development body is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission with a view to attracting other sponsors should be backed by all Itsekiri.
Coordinators of the group, Messrs Sunny Akra, Itse Omajugho and Emiko O. Ejoh, appealed to all well meaning Itsekiri sons and daughters to abide by the Olu’s order, just as they commended Pa. Steve Jemerigbe for declaring his intention to respect the Monarch’s decision.
Meanwhile, while members of Itsekiri Like-minds were drumming up support for the Olu of Warri’s order, a “new executive of IRDC Chaired by Mr. Austin Oniyesan” was on Tuesday March 1 purportedly sworn-in by the member representing Warri North Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Diden.
