The Delta State Police Command have alerted people of the South-South, South-East and South-West Geopolitical zones of a criminal syndicate comprised of a young man who uses clutches and a young woman whose modus operendi is hinged on deceit of chattering commuter buses.
According to a Statement released Monday March 7 by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Celestina Kalu, the syndicate usually chatter commuter buses from any part of the afore-stated three geopolitical zones on the pretext of going to Agbor in Delta State to pack their belongings, only to end up robbing their unsuspecting victims/drivers.
The Statement made available to Fresh Angle International revealed that sometime in July 2015, the criminal syndicate chattered a driver from Ilorin, Kwara State to Agbor and subsequently robbed him of his vehicle.
The Delta State Police Command disclosed that at about 9:30 am on Sunday March 6, the young lady came to Agowin International Transport Services, PTI Road Effurun to request for a commuter bus to pick some passengers from Igbodo back to Effurun. On reaching Igbodo, the lady asked the driver to return to Umunede, claiming she wanted to pick another person there. It was at Umunede the driver was beaten up by other members of her gang who laid ambush.
