The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet, has revealed the creation of fake Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn accounts as well as email and phone numbers of its Director General/CEO, Prof. Mansur Bako Matazu, by some unscrupulous persons.
Fresh Angle International can report that the Agency in a fraud alert on its twitter handle this afternoon, Wednesday April 12, disclosed that the scammers, “have been using such to defraud the innocent unsuspecting public.”
Whilst dissociating itself from the fraudsters, the Management of NiMet, advised members of the public, to direct inquiries on the fraud alert through its website or the use of the Agency’s e-mail: info@nimet.gov.ng
The Agency, assured that: “The relevant security agencies have been notified and are on the trail of those committing this act. They will soon be caught and made to face the wrath of the law.”
