A formidable pressure group in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, Concerned Warri North for Development, CWNFD, has called on Hon. Festus Ashima, to contest for the Warri North Local Government Chairmanship Seat in the forthcoming local government poll.
Fresh Angle International, can report that the group, ably led by the Chairman, Hon. Robinson Ajinomisanghan (aka Ajigan Odon) made the demand in a statement released this evening, Wednesday May 10.
Whilst stating that they are concerned about development in Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the local government area, CWNFD, explained that the call for Hon. Ashima to contest for the Warri North plum job, was necessitated by the need, “to get it right in the forthcoming local government council election in Delta State.”
The statement added: “We are appealing to our leaders and the incoming governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, to do justice to the people of Eghoro Federal Ward 4, being the largest ward in Warri North Local Government Area.
“Eghoro Federal Ward 4, has been core PDP ward from 1999 till date, yet people of Eghoro, have not gotten key Political Appointment or Elective Position in the state from the PDP led administrations.
“We are appealing that in the next local government Poll, a well-deserved son of the soil, Hon. Festus Ashima, should be considered as Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, due to his good antecedent and the contributions of Eghoro indigenes to the development of PDP.”
