Be united, speak in one voice - Olu of Warri charges subjects in Diaspora

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has charged Itsekiris in the United Kingdom, under the aegis of Ugbajo Itsekiri UK, to be united and speak in one voice.

 

Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that the Warri Monarch, gave the charge Saturday May 27 in Warri. Delta State, when the president of Ugbajo Itsekiri UK, Mr. Mejebi Eyewuoma and his team paid courtesy visit to him, at the Olu Palace, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area.           

 

The visit, was to formally invite the king, to Ugbajo Itsekiri UK annual Gala Night, coming up later in the year.

Mr. Eyewuoma , said Ugbajo Itsekiri UK, is the only Itsekiri non - profit organization that is incorporated by the United Kingdom Charity Commission.  

 

According to him, the group is focused on promoting healthcare and education in Itsekiri rural communities in Nigeria.

 

He explained that the invite extended to the revered Monarch to grace the gala night, was because the Olu and the Olori, are passionate in promoting education and development in rural communities.

 

The President of Ugbajo Itsekiri UK ,said theme of the Gala Night is “ the role of diaspora community in strategic health and education development in rural communities”, noting that the event will hold July 29 this year at Brent Civic Center, Wembley.

Responding, the Olu of Warri, urged members of the group, not to relent in their good works, but pull all Itsekiris together into the Ugbajo Itsekiri, while encouraging other Itsekiris in diaspora to emulate the Ugbajo Itsekiri UK, in doing good works.

 

The Olu thanked members of the group, for their efforts and initiative in pulling the programme together, assuring them of his presence at the Gala Night.
