A bizarre incident happened at Ogbebor Street, Off Medical Stores Road, Benin City, Edo State when one Pastor Alfred was caught sexually molesting his landlord’s 10-year old daughter.
Our Benin City Correspondent reports that the unholy act was discovered by the step-mother of the child who said she has been suspecting something awful. So on this fateful day she noticed the little child entered Alfred’s room. After 40 minutes she went to the door which was locked as well as the windows prompting her to raise alarm.
After much banging and knocking on the door, Alfred opened the door and her suspicion was confirmed as his bed was socked in sperm.
Angered by the development, the youths and others who had responded to the alarm descended on the pastor and gave him the beating of his life after which the police were called in.
Upon hearing the deed of their father, his children who had abandoned him for long among whom are a legal practitioner and an accountant came to his rescue.
After 3 days negotiation with the family of the little girl, the sum of N60, 000 was paid to the child’s father ostensibly to cover medical expenses of the girl and stop the case from going beyond Okhoro Police Station, Benin City.
After the settlement, Alfred was released on bail. Our Correspondent reports that while Alfred was in police net no member of his church, not even the head pastor visited him at the station as one of his member said, “we do not want the name of our church to be dragged into mud.”
A female respondent who prefers anonymity said the pastor had been involved in similar immoral misconduct and sometimes rescued by his affluent children.
