The Executive Council of Warri South Local Government, has refuted speculations in social media platforms of planned closure of Igbudu Market, Warri on Saturday June 17.
Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael E. Tidi, in a statement released Friday June 16, averred that the Council had to make the clarification, following repeated inquiries from traders and other critical stakeholders.
Dr. Tidi, asserted that the right of passage of the Ovie of Agbarha, Warri, HRM London Orhifi Ememoh II, slated for tomorrow, Saturday June 17, does not pose any security threat to traders in Igbudu Market and customers intending to carry out their usual purchases.
Whilst restating his administration's resolve to sustain the support of traditional institutions in Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Tidi, emphasized that unwarranted closure of markets and other business concerns at this time when people are struggling with the economic difficulties heightened by the removal of fuel subsidy, was unnecessary.
