The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, has applauded the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, high, when it comes to the state's socioeconomic development.
Rt. Hon. Yusuf, particularly mentioned the foresight of the Governor in creating the Kogi State Enterprise Development Agency and other executive bills sent to the assembly in the past to solidify economic tools under the present administrative.
Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that he stated this Sunday July 2, during the commissioning of a new hospitality hotel, Elite Hotel, in Lokoja the state capital.
While commending the CEO of the new hospitality edifice, he promised to use his office as the head of the legislative arm of government to ensure that friendly legislations come up to encourage other entrepreneurs to sink their money in Kogi State so as to create more employment opportunities for the citizens.
Rt. Yusuf. stated that such investments were also necessary to put to use the diverse resources available in the state, noting as expensive as it is to right insecurity, the state government has invested enough to ensure everybody went about their businesses without the fear of kidnapping, armed robbery and other forms of unrest.
He further applauded Governor Bello for ensuring that friendly economic climate are provided for investors by ensuring friendly taxation system, describing the measure as a panacea for healthy return on investment.
The speaker urged other wealthy individuals to also come to the state to invest their money as Kogi is a fertile environment for economic prosperity.
"As legislators, the 8th Assembly is prepared to work closely with Executive Arm of Government to encourage laws that would help in fight vices that discourage investments in all industries, especially insecurity and help the government as a whole to continue to create necessary climate that makes investments safe," the speaker stressed.
"It is obvious that Governor Yahaya Bello is using his experience as a businessman to ensure any impediment to economic development are removed and we will ensure that continues in the state under our watch," he concluded.
