Residents of NASFAT Community, Felele Phase II, a sub-hub of Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital have lamented several months of absence of public power supply from Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC.
Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that the Community Chairman, Hon, Sani Ibrahim and Chairman, Committee on Electricity in the Community, Raji Omuya, made their frustration known Monday July 3, in a Save -Our-Soul-letter addressed to the Management of Lokoja Office of AEDC.
According to them, the black-out, have continued to bring untold hardship on residents of the community, paralyzing their economic activities and making hoodlums to capitalize on the power outage, to perpetuate all forms of criminal activities.
They appealed to AEDC and Governor Yahaya Bello to provide them with a new transformer to so solve the prolonged black-out.
The letter reads in part: "We are calling on AEDC and Governor Yahaya Bello to quickly come to our aide. Our community have been suffering for power black out for several months. Economic activities have been crippled, hoodlums are taking advantage of this situation to rip us off our little belonging.
"All we are asking for is a new transformer to fix our electricity problem. We have made contributions within our self to restore power back to our community but it is far above us that is why we are making this passionate appeal for AEDC and Governor Bello to come an save us from these long months of darkness and hardship".
