The Acting Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has presented cheques worth N4,700,000.00 to next of kins of eight Police Officers, who died in active service in Kogi State.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Command, SP William Ovye Aya, made the disclosure yesterday, Thursday July 27.
Aya, stated that the Commissioner of Police, in Kogi State, CP Onuoha Bethrand presented the cheques on behalf of the IGP.
According to Aya, the Assistance Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration ; ACP Rufus Odediran who represented the Commissioner of Police during the event noted that the Cheques were part of the IGP Welfare Insurance Scheme.
The statement, noted that the Commissioner of Police appreciated the Acting IGP for his kind gesture and appealed to the families to make good use of the money while wishing them safe journey back to their various destinations.
Aya further noted that the beneficiaries thanked the Acting IGP and the State Police Command for the support and assured the Police of judicious use of the money.
