The Commission representing Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality in the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Hon. Sunny Ofe, says the 3-day townhall meetings organized by the Commission for Itsekiri Communities in Warri South, Warri North and Warri South-West Local Government Areas, was to bring the communities closer to the state government as well as enable DESOPADEC address some major challenges affecting development of Itsekiri Communities.
The DESOPADEC Commissioner, in a statement made available to Fresh Angle International this morning, Wednesday August 16, through one of his Aides, assured that the community-engagements, would be continuous so as to ensure better relationship between the Commission and the host communities.
Whilst appreciating representatives of the Itsekiri communities that attended the town hall meetings, Hon. Ofe, promised that DESOPADEC will complete all projects in Itsekiri land.
“The old projects, will be completed and monitored, before new ones will eventually kick off. My office, is always open from Monday through Friday. All complains as regards projects affecting our communities, should be reported, especially if the contractors are acting funny.
“All hands, must be on deck from the communities, because the Commission is ready to cooperate with our host communities, in project monitoring, by making sure such projects are not abandoned”, DESOPADEC Commissioner, stressed.
