A near altercation was on Saturday July 14 averted at Idofin Community, Oka-Akoko South West local government area in Ondo State when an unidentified member of the state chapter of Still and Motion Camera Operators’ Association demanded three hundred naira from a Delta based photographer before he can cover the traditional marriage between former Miss Dupe Asare and Mr. Emiko Oritseseundede Abigor.
Our Senior Correspondent who was at Ondo State to cover the marriage reports that it took the intervention of a prominent member of the Asare family to bring the situation under control after members of the Ondo State association insisted that the Delta based photographer identified simply as Monday, pay the sum of three hundred naira before he will be allowed to a carry out his legitimate photo coverage.
The Delta based photographer who severally declined orders to pay the controversial three hundred naira raised alarm when the heat became too much and told the Ondo State camera man to get out of his sight. When friends and elders of the Asare family as well as guests of the groom’s family noticed the heated argument , they asked the Ondo based camera man to leave the venue of the traditional marriage, a directive which was initially resisted by other members of the Ondo State association.
