THE MISFIRINGS OF CONCERNED CITIZENS AND MEMBERS OF DELTA STATE YOUTH LEADERS FOR APC IN DELTA STATE

There would have been no need bringing a matter undergoing legal processes to the media, because of the utmost respect I have for the judiciary, but the conspiracy theory thrown to the media space by the aforementioned group, with a view to misrepresenting facts, has made this rejoinder vitally important.

The publication of Comrade Ovibi T. Superior, Mr. Waibode Fuludu and Engr. C.O. Chinedu, under the aegis of Concerned Citizens and Members of Delta State Coalition of Youth Leaders for APC in Delta state, showed that they were either ignorant of the prayers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Delta South Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Michael Diden or they are intellectually deficient.

It must be noted that the prayers of PDP and Hon. Michael Diden (AKA Ejele) was not granted by the three - man panel led by Justice Catherine Ogunsola, hence the conspiracy theory thrown to the media space, with a view to mislead members of the public, was an exercise in futility.

It is often said that the courts deal with evidences/ fact brought before it, not conspiracy theory or allegations pieced together, to curry favour of paymaster (s).

For clarity of purpose, it is necessary to remind everyone that the Presidential and National Assembly ( Senate/ House of Representatives) elections, held same day across the country and wherever postponement occurred ( if any) it affected the three elections ( Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives).

In Warri South Local Government Area, elections for the Presidential and National Assembly elections, held simultaneously in all the units, with votes counted, collated at the various wards, moved to the LGA Collation center and subsequently taken to the Zonal level at INEC Office in Oleh, where the result for Warri South as regards the Senatorial election, was wrongfully singled out for cancellation and that of the Presidential election was untouched.

This was after the Warri South LGA result, duly verified, revealed that Hon. Michael Diden, was certain for victory, when added to results from the other 7 local government areas in Delta South Senatorial District.

While I will not join the conspiracy theory promoters to accuse the 3 - man panel ( Tribunal) of compromise, following its judgment, ordering a rerun election within 90 days in Warri South Local Government Area, Deltans, particularly those in Delta South, should know that Hon. Michael Diden and the PDP, will appeal the Tribunal judgment and ensure that Hon. Michael Diden is declared winner at the Appeal Court.

It is contradictory that same people that called on the Chief Justice of the Federation and the National Judicial Council (Which they erroneously called Nigeria Judicial Council) to call members of the Delta State Election Petition Tribunal to order, say they have confidence in the Court of Appeal, to dismiss the Tribunal's judgment, as it concerns Delta South Senatorial election, held earlier this year.

While the sudden confidence they have in the Court of Appeal will be under serious scrutiny, I remain unwavering that Hon. Michael Diden, will get justice in the Appeal Court and eventually represent Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, because he got the mandate of people of Delta south.
