Ukwuani LGA Chairman, Ajede moves to make Obiaruku home of Cassava Fufu

The Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area in Delta State, Barr. Possible Ajede, has begun moves to make Obiaruku, headquarters of the Local Government Area, the home of Cassava Fufu (Akpu) in the state, with the provision of pounding machines to micro entrepreneurs involved in the production.

Our Co-Publisher/Managing Editor, reports that Barr. Ajede, made the disclosure at Obiaruku, Wednesday October 11, when he played host to the leadership of Association of Community Newspaper Publishers of Nigeria, ACNPN, Delta State Chapter.

The Council Boss, who stated that come Friday October 13, his administration will flag-off a programme for the support of pregnant women in Ukwuani Local Government Area, revealed that peace has returned to the hitherto feuding Umutu and Amai communities.

Barr. Ajede, asserted that a peace building committee has been put in place, to sustain the existing peace in the various communities across Ukwuani Local Government Area. 

He mentioned renovation of some public primary schools in the council area, execution of a modern abattoir, support to farmers, to enable them move their Agricultural produce to the market and the construction of culverts across some farm roads, as strategic educational and socio-economic achievements by his administration. 

Whilst disclosing plans by his administration to organize a sport festival in the local government area, with a view to unearthing budding sports talents, the Ukwuani Local Government Area Chief Executive, averred: “Following the school resumption, school children will be empowered with materials such as uniform, books and sandals, to boost their moral for learning.”
