One of the contenders for the Warri South Chairmanship Seat in the forthcoming Delta State Local Government Election, Comrade Monoyo Edon, has brushed off any form of threat from his fellow aspirants, saying it’s only someone without the necessary requirements, that is jittery ahead of the impending primary of the Peoples Democratic Party and the eventual poll.
Comrade Monoyo Edon, who made the assertion during an exclusive telephone chat with Fresh Angle International, today, Monday October 16, averred that it would be unfair to say somebody who has spent 4years in the party (PDP) is not old enough to be Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area.
On why activities of his aspiration, has slowed down on social media, the Chairmanship hopeful, stated: “The consultations are ongoing, I deliberately took it off social media space, initially it was online, but more offline lately.”
He added: “I am not weighed down by my opponents, it is about let the best do it and I believe I have what is required. I possess the new ideas needed to make our Council (Warri South) work in full swing.
“For me, the job is not a plum job. The Council job is not a money -spinning venture for whosoever is eyeing the position of chairmanship. As per being a rookie, this is the first time our governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori contested for the position of governor. Same as the governor of Niger State. There is always going to be an opportunity to cut your teeth.”
