Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Warri Federal Constituency in the last general polls, Mr. Ekpoto Ekpoto Emmanuel, says the reported directive by President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, that all Appeals arising from the last general polls be transferred to Abuja and Lagos, is a welcome development, because it " will shrink the space for judicial merchants."
Ekpoto, who made the declaration following a terse message sent to him by This Newspaper today, Monday October 16, noted: " It's common knowledge that majority of the people believe the judgments in Delta state, were procured."
Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem
It was gathered that all pending Appeals, emanating from the Election Petition Tribunal at Asaba, Delta state, will now be entertained at the Appeal Court in Lagos, meaning that both the petitioners and defendants, will spend more in terms of logistics and accommodation, going to Lagos state for hearings.
