The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos today, Wednesday November 1, re-affirmed the victory of the member representing the people of Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rev. Ejiro Francis Waive.
Recall that the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, Delta State, had nullified the election of Rev. Francis Waive of All Progressives Congress.
The tribunal declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 25 election, Solomon Ahwinahwi, as the winner to represent Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu federal constituency.
Fresh Angle International, can report that the Appeal Court, in its ruling, today, upheld the victory of Waive as the undisputed winner of the election.
Rev. Waive, while reacting to the Appeal Court judgment on his X handle, stated: “I am forever grateful to God Almighty for the privilege to serve my people. I appreciate the entire people of Ughelli North Ughelli South Udu Federal Constituency for the massive support I continue to enjoy from my people.
“I commend the Justices of the Court of Appeal for restoring justice and faith in our judiciary by ensuring that an ordinary citizen without money and connections get fair hearing and judgement”,
