The Tonwe Ogiri Descendants Union, TODU, Warri, an influential social cultural group, has held its 2023 End-of-Year meeting and celebration.
Our Senior Roving Correspondent reports that the event which held Sunday December 17 at Bridge View Hotel in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area, was attended by sons and daughters of Tonwe family.
Prominent member of the family, Mr. Roland Tonwe who spoke to Fresh Angle International on the sidelines of the get - to - together, said: “Tonwe Descendants are one of the biggest families in Iwere land, it has been in existence for a long time, I am a great grandson of Tonwe Ogiri family.

“We are here today to celebrate as a family and get to know ourselves better, there are many other Tonwe family members, who are yet to join, by the next edition we will have a family tree to show our connection.“
An elder in the famous family, Mr. Nicholas .O. Tonwe, explained that Tonwe Descendants Union was established to foster and promote cooperation and the spirit of unity among members of Tonwe family.

“Today’s end of year gathering was a success, it gave us the platform to know ourselves better.
Today is just the beginning of more things to come as we look forward to a bigger event next year,“ he noted.
