The Managing Director of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor, has unveiled the 2024 roadmap of the Commission, which is targeted at driving sustainable development in oil bearing communities.
Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that the DESOPADEC MD, rolled out the agenda during a chat with newsmen, earlier today, Wednesday January 24, at the end of the first DESOPADEC Board Meeting of the year 2024, which held at the Commission’s headquarters in Warri, Delta State.
Chief Ochonogor, identified the key areas in the roadmap to include inspection of ongoing projects, completion and commissioning of completed projects in the mandate areas of the Commission.
He also disclosed plans to organize training for members of the Board and staff of the Commission, with a view to increasing competence and productivity of the workforce.

“The Commission, will also commence activities for the next batch of trainees at the DESOPADEC Skill Academy, DSA”, Ochonogor, revealed.
Whilst assuring that the Commission, will enhance the relationship between members of the Board and staff, particularly in the area of staff welfare, Chief Ochonogor, congratulated Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the affirmation of his victory by the Supreme Court.
Chairman of the Board, Chief (Barr.) John Nani, the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Chief Kome Okpobor, the Executive Director, Projects, Chief Taleb Tebite, the Executive Director, Social Services, Chief Favour Izuokumor, the Executive Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Chief Nicholas Efele and all Commissioners, representing the Ethnic Nationalities that make up the Board of the Commission, were present during the meeting.
