Thirty three Families of deceased Police Officer in Kogi State have received N34,264,159.03 cheque from the Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the Kogi State Commissioner of Police Bethrand Onuoha who was represented by Baraymill Samaila Ahmadu, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration made presentation at the command headquarter in Lokoja on Wednesday.
According to a statement by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) SP William Ovye Aya, the cheque was presented to families of deceased Officers who died in active service as well as those who got injured through accident while carrying out official dirty.
The statement explained that the gesture was part of the welfare package aimed at improving the welfare of the families of the deceased Officers and to equally support Officers who are victims of accident.
" The Nigeria Police recognizes the sacrifices made by the officers. The Commissioner is urging the accident victims to take care of themselves and charged the deceased families to make use of the money to better the families living condition" Aya added.
